A towbar mounted wheelchair carrier which tilts sideways to allow the wheelchair to be loaded using leverage, using the wheelchair"s center of gravity, minimizing lifting. Suitable for self propelling wheelchairs only.
Step 1. The carriers consists of a baseplate which is fitted under the towbar ball. (click on image to see the series of picture for this product.) A framework slides onto this, secured by a ringpin, which supports the wheelchair. The framework is made from zinc plated steel, and can simply be folded up and removed from the towbar when not in use.
Step 2. On removal of the securing pin, the framework can be tilted towards the ground
Step 3. The wheelchair can now be be loaded by tipping the wheelchair onto its rear wheels and pulling it into the supporting base, the base at this time only being 75-100 millimetres above the ground.
Step 4. Return the framework to upright position, secure the pin and tie down.
Tie down points have been incorporated into the design.
